Cerebral palsy is a severe, life-altering illness that can affect anyone from any background, even those with no previous history of the disease.

9 years old Abhimanyu Singh from Rajasamand was born with clubfoot condition since birth.He couldn’t walk straight and had a tough time going about his everyday routine. His father Yashpal Singh took him to several hospitals in Bikaner. They also tried physiotherapy, but the outcomes were inconclusive. Following that, his family relocated from Bikaner to Rajsamand because of his father’s business loss during the crucial Covid-19 period. He lost his job and was no longer able to finance his son’s treatment. One of their relatives told them about Narayan Seva Sansthan and its efforts one day. They came here, and the doctors assured them that their son would be fine soon and that he would be able to walk properly again. He underwent successful surgery on February 28, 2022, and has made incredible development since then. He will now finish his studies and be on his way to attaining his dream of becoming a great scientist.
The child was born five years ago to Anil Sikhwal, a resident of Deoretha village in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. There was an atmosphere of happiness in the whole family. Everyone was celebrating a lot, but when the doctor saw the son, he told that there is curvature in the claws from the knees of both his feet. Everyone’s faces turned pale on hearing this; happiness vanished in a moment. The heart of the parents shuddered, they were very happy to have a son, but seeing his condition, they drowned in sorrow. The doctor assured that everything would be fine. The parents started taking care of the son in the hope of recovery of the son. The son was named Chandu Sikhwal. Father Anil is taking care of the family by doing labor and farming around the village and mother Deepa Devi is doing household chores. Due to the deteriorating condition of the family, it was not possible to get treatment in a big and private hospital.
Anil’s sister’s daughter was also in the same condition when someone gave information about Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur, Rajasthan, the daughter was treated and she got cured. Then Anil came to the institute on 4th June 2022 without wasting any time. Here the doctor successfully operated on his son’s right leg on June 9, tied a plaster bandage and called again after about a month. When he came back on 18th July, the plaster was cut, then it was very happy to see the leg, the leg was completely straight. Special calipers and shoes were prepared and worn on 21 July. The other leg was operated on July 22. Father Anil tells that now it is expected that like the first leg, the second leg will also be completely cured. The Sansthan family has cured the son by giving free treatment; we are very happy, many thanks to all the donors and colleagues.
This story is of Dipanshu, son of father Rajkumar and mother Sugandha, resident of village Dhavali of Shahpura tehsil of Jaipur district of Rajasthan. In 2010, everyone’s faces blossomed with the arrival of a new guest in the family. The birth of a son as the first child created an atmosphere of happiness among the parents and relatives. The child was very beautiful and completely healthy from birth. Everyone was mesmerized by the adorable voice of a small child from every corner of the house.
Dipanshu was now five years old that in 2015 due to polio disease, the leg was twisted above the knee and toes. A lot of treatment was done in big and private hospitals too but there was no difference. Then, at the age of four-five years, he enrolled in a nearby school. Along with being sharp in reading and writing, he had won the hearts of everyone in the school. The burden of disability made it difficult to walk and go to school. Dipanshu passed 8th and came in 9th but could not get rid of the pain of disability. At the age of thirteen, the frustrated parents were worried about the future of the child. Then one day, after seeing the program of free polio operation of Narayan Seva Sansthan Udaipur on TV, parents got hope. Without wasting any time they immediately brought Dipanshu to Udaipur Institute on 18th June 2022. Here the doctor and team successfully operated on the right leg on June 21 and tied the plaster. Called again after about a month. On July 29, when he came for the second time and got the plaster opened, the leg was completely fine. Two days later, the calipers were prepared and worn on the legs. The father says that my son can now walk comfortably, and the crookedness of the leg has also been cured, we feel very happy to see the son walking comfortably.
Karishma Kumari, a lovely girl from Bihar, is 12 years old and in the seventh grade. She was living a normal life with her family until a tragedy struck. While playing with her friends, she met with asevere accident. Her foot had been seriously wounded, and she had been having trouble walking since then. Even as a laborer, her father, Vimlesh Kumar, went to great lengths to ensure that she had adequate treatment. However, none of the doctors were willing to accept the assurance of improvement. Then after, they learned about Narayan Seva Sansthan via a family member of one of their relatives who had a successful surgery here as well. Her father quickly rushed her here, and her surgery was done on February 18th. She is now healing nicely from the Ilizarov technique of treatment. Her next operation is scheduled for the end of March. She wants to be a social worker after seeing the various services and work done here. We will do everything we can to assure that she achieves all of her aspirations.
Mohan says that we have given him a second chance to live life. He wanted to go to school, play cricket and do various other things like children of his age usually do. However, he was born with a disability that made it difficult for him to walk. This eventually forced him to put away all his dreams and aspirations, and stay at home. Mohan’s uncle decided to help him and looked for artificial limb centres in India that could provide him with free prosthetic legs. Narayan Seva Sansthan emerged as a saviour during that time and sponsored Mohan’s prosthetic leg. Since then, Mohan has been actively visiting our centre to inspire other kids with his story.
Nazra, a resident of Lambakheda village in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh, was a victim of polio since birth. It was very difficult to walk due to crookedness and twisting in both the toes. Seeing her condition, the parents were very worried about the future, what would happen to her? Her parents got her a lot of treatment from nearby hospitals and Ayurvedic methods but to no avail. Father SakirHussain is doing furniture work and mother Bhanu Begum is taking care of seven family members including two brothers and three sisters by doing household chores. Nazra turned twenty years old with the sorrow of congenital disability, but no treatment was possible from anywhere. Parents got tired of wandering here and there in search of treatment, then one day Najra went to her aunt’s place, then a family living nearby told that a girl from my family also had a similar condition, both of whom Legs were bent.They took her to NarayanSevaSansthan in Udaipur, Rajasthan for treatment and there she recovered completely. Told that similar diseases are treated and free polio operation is done.
Then, as soon as the parents got the information, without wasting any time, they took information about the institute and reached the institute on September 2021with Nazra. After coming here, the doctor told the date of the operation after three months. After coming back on 1 January 2022, successful operation of left leg was done. After about a month, the plaster opened. Mother Bhanu Begum tells that now Najra’s legs have become quite straight, she was very happy to see that. On 23 July special calipers were prepared and installed and on 31 July, the second leg was also successfully operated. Now it is expected that just like the left leg, the right leg will also recover completely. The parents said that the Sansthan family cured our daughter by giving her free treatment and many thanks to the family who gave us information about the institute. We are grateful.

A pre-mature girl was born 12 years ago in the house of Santosh Kumar Agrahari, a resident of Mahul village in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Her legs had curvature in the knees and toes. Seeing this the whole family including the parents went into mourning, but what could they do? Then they started taking care of the daughter. The daughter was named Prachi. When the daughter was four or five years old, she was admitted to the nearest school. There was a lot of trouble in daily commuting to school, as the parents had to do household chores and outside work. And it was necessary to have one person to take care of her. The daughter was now 12 years old. Along with the upbringing of the daughter, the parents got tired of wandering for treatment, but there was no satisfactory answer from anywhere. For the treatment of the daughter, they also visited the hospitals of Mumbai, Lucknow and nearby hospitals and did a lot of physiotherapy, but there were no possibility of recovery from here too. And due to this situation, Prachi’s studies were also left in the middle.
Father is taking care of five family members by running his own chips agency and mother Sarita Devi is working as a housewife. Then a differently-abled person from his village came to the village walking comfortably after getting treatment for his feet at Narayan SevaSansthan, Udaipur, and seeing this, a ray of hope appeared. Then after taking information from him, in April 2022, the parents came to the institute with Prachi. On 27 April, both legs and knees were successfully operated on, and then two months later, on 2 June, the plaster bandage was opened again. For the third time both feet were measured on 18 July 2022 and special calipers and shoes were prepared and worn on 21 July. Doctor Ankit Chauhan tells that Prachi is now healthy and fine, very soon she will be able to walk comfortably. The parents express their feelings saying that they were overjoyed to see Prachi standing upright on both feet. The institute has given new life to the daughter and us.
Satnam, a resident of Sirsa in Haryana, had weak legs since birth and his right leg was bent at the knees and toes. Seeing such condition of the son’s feet, the whole family including father Sitaram and mother Sita Devi got worried. Many thoughts were coming in my mind. There was happiness in the family with the birth of a son, but in a moment it turned into sorrow. The doctors told that don’t be sad; we will try our best to fix the leg. But when this did not happen, the parents’ concern increased even more. After a few months, he was also shown to nearby hospitals but did not get a satisfactory answer. In big private hospitals, the cost of treatment was high and there was no guarantee that the child would be able to walk after the operation. The father is running the house of five family members by driving an auto and the mother is working as a housewife.
Satnam turned twenty-one years old with the grief of congenital disability but could not get rid of the disability. Some time ago Satnam saw a ray of hope after seeing a friend of the village walking. Then Satnam got information from him that he got free treatment for both his legs at Narayan Seva Sansthan Udaipur Rajasthan and got cured. Then he came here on 15 June 2022 with complete information about the institute. On coming here, he was admitted after being examined by a doctor and on June 23, after a successful operation of the right leg, a plaster bandage was tied. After about a month, when the plaster was opened again on 30th July, the leg was already quite fine. The calipers were ready and worn on 1 August. Now Satnam is healthy and walking comfortably. Parents and brothers are very happy with Satnam’s recovery and are very grateful to the institution and that friend.
